Every time you talk about this Verizon credit card it feels like you aren't cognizant of how much excess money it costs to be on Verizon Postpaid compared to alternatives. It's not the 2000s anymore where postpaid is the only option. Since your channel is called Proud "Money", seems odd that you're just content with paying a high telecom bill every month. Would be good to at least mention to your viewers the possibility of Prepaid or MVNOs, which keep things much cheaper and simpler for consumers. And avoids many 2000s era predatory business practices that are still in practice.

One thing that never gets mentioned at least for me is i get 4% at Walmart no matter what i buy because it always codes as grocery. Better than the walmart card. One example is i bought a computer and still got 4% back.

I was paying verizon with Paypal Billspay getting the $10 discount and 5% on the Chase Ink Cash. Paypal Billspay Got killed about 3 months ago. Has anyone found a replacement?

It baffles me that a Verizon credit card doesn’t offer itself the highest multiplier for bill payments or at least insurances. Same as the ATT credit card. Both cards are a complete miss (or trap if want)

I use the card exclusively for my Verizon bill on autopay and nothing else. I assume a lot of others do the same. It’s probably why changes like this are being made.

Decent card, I have ATT so I can’t get it the change to 1% is bs although most Synchrony cards lack on the rewards.

I can see Verizon wants you to use not just for paying your bills but actually use it for swipes with the biggest expense people have like groceries, gas and restaurants , so 1% on online bill pay is understandable

Last time I checked, Verizon plan prices were absurd, so I'd rather use a cheaper carrier and get 3x and then use phone purchases to either take a big chunk out of min spend or get at least 2x, and buy through a shopping portal for extra rewards.

I buy my phone alright unlocked no 36 months contract for me. I am going to cancel my Gold card anyways and put my groceries & restaurant on this card , so it’s a win win.

Im fairly new to credit cards, but the US bank altitude go seems good, or the wells fargo active cash.

My Verizon bill is $150 a month for three phones. 1% back is $1.50 2% back is $3.00. The $1.50 difference is negligible.

If I'm going too buy a phone in full upfront, I wouldn't do it through the carrier and get all their bloatware.

Had the card when I had Verizon. Not a bad card and served its purpose. Canceled when I went to Tmobile.

It’s an OK card. Would rather have other cards over this. The only true value is being able to keep the Autopay discount ($480 a year for me) and getting 1% to pay the bill that needs to be paid with anyway.

Just a note that you can use Verizon dollars for more than just a credit on your bill. You can also get gift cards or book travel.

The Verizon card is still a good card for Gas. Plus it has no cap for the 4% on Groceries.

I used to pay my verizon bill with my cash+ before the autopay debit would hit and all was good. About 2 months ago that ended and i would get a notice that if i paid my bill it would remove the 10 dollar autopay discount. Ended up getting the verizon card for 2% but now its knocked to 1%. Super annoying

This has made me more intrigued in the card. Probably will get it next year and replace my Amex Gold. I already would have my bill on a different card for phone insurance and could redeem those rewards no problem

Most people would be better served with the Wells Fargo Active Cash Visa. Receive 2% cash back on any use.

FICO is a joke, it is designed to keep you in debt to keep your FICO score high. FICO needs to go away.

Who cares about the credit card one is using?

My two least favorite CC companies. I have a Discover card, which is my longest credit card history - but my hands are tied as they don't budge/increase my CLI so I am stuck with a stingy 4k Discover limit vs. my largest limit at 23.5k and all others at least 10k, I have a lot of cards and never can get preapproved for Capital One so I gave up after a few too many tries. I had Synchrony Walmart Mastercard which is now Capital One at $4500 and Capital One will not raise the limit on that either . So apparently my Discover card will now be firmly cemented in the low tier bucket thanks to the this Capital One acquisition.

This "bank" is either completely incompetent or completely corrupt. I had dental work done, and they were the company the dentist used. They never sent me a card and have sent all my bills late so they can charge late fees. Complete scam.

I just got mine in January after citi and wellfargo rejected my app. Citi rejected me again (ive been applying for custom cash though). Sucks because i am a late bloomer to credit card game but all the credit card companies see is a lot of hard inquiry/requests for credit. Have everything on auto pay and never miss a bill.

Also get MR points if you have an Amex bank checking account! Not a lot but it still gets you MR points Also there is the Charles Schwab investor card which gives you 1.5 cashback. Not the greatest either but I like those cashback going into my investor account. 😌

Chase would be great cards if only they would get rid of the 5/24 rule. Otherwise, there are other cards out there with the same rotating categories or better 🤷🏼‍♀️

It sucks for normal everyday purchases but for people who shop online it’s still decent. But dammit, maybe I have to get double cash card or something

It makes more sense to just use Microsoft rewards as you csn get up to 20:1 per dollar spent just on Microsoft
